Boys’ record: 4-0! Girls’ record: 3-1!

Hello CSD Riverside Staff,

Here is the highlights of the Middle School Basketball games last week and this week. My teams would love to see you all come and root for us!! The more fans, the merrier!

§ First game (Boys)

§ Nathaniel Humpal scored 19 points to bring CSD Riverside to a 59-19 victory over Baptist Christian School on Monday.

§ 2 other players also added 10 or more points for the team. . Adonis Tauvalaau put up 18 points and Jacob Weiss racked up 10 points. Also contributing for the CSD Riverside were Connely Jones

§ (6 points), Aaron Hernandez (4 points) and Dylan Duarte (2 points)

§ Second game (Boys)

§ Adonis Tauvalaau scored 23 points to bring the CSD Riverside to a 58-37 victory over Woodcrest B on Thursday. 2 other players also scored in the double digits for the CSD Riverside. Jacob Weiss contributed 15 points and Nathaniel Humpal put up 10 points. Also helping the effort for the CSD Riverside were Connely Jones J (2 points, 2 rebounds), Richard Celis (2 points) and Aaron Hernandez (2 points). CSD Riverside finished the game with 23 rebounds (19 offensive/four defensive)

§ Third game (Boys)

§ Jacob Weiss scored 25 points to lead CSD Riverside to a 56-36 victory over Bethel Christian on Wednesday. Nathaniel Humpal achieved double digits, scoring 14 points for CSD Riverside (14-for-14). Also chipping in for CSD Riverside were Adonis Tauvalaau (9 points, 7 rebounds), Connely Jones (4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal), Aaron Hernandez (4 points, 11 rebounds) and Dylan Duarte

§ (2 points, 1 rebound). Nathaniel was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up 19 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 blocks. CSD Riverside finished the game with 58 rebounds (21 offensive/37 defensive), 3 blocks and 4 steals.

§ Fourth game (Boys)

§ Adonis Tauvalaau’s 18 points propelled the CSD Riverside to a 55-14 victory over Calvary Chapel Murietta on Thursday. Jacob Weiss notched 2 three-pointers and scored 12 points total. 2 other players also racked up double digit scores for the CSD Riverside. Nathaniel Humpal added 16 points. Also chipping in for the CSD Riverside were Aaron Hernandez (6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) and Elijah Andrade (3 points, 1 rebound). Nathaniel was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up 10 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 blocks. CSD Riverside finished the game with 48 rebounds (15 offensive/33 defensive), 5 blocks and 12 steals.

First game (Girls)
CSD Riverside played against Baptist Christian School. It was a first game of the season. 5 players were returned from last season and 6 new players as well as some of them are first time playing basketball. They played well, they played hard as they gave it all. Jahaidia Brown-Love, Janae Mixon, Alexandra Monge, Emma Salazar and Maricela Galarza made 4 points each We lost by 3 points, 26-29. The Player of the Game was Janae Mixon.

Second game (Girls)
CSD Riverside had a basketball game against Bethel. They had a good start off and led in a whole game as we maintained controlling in the game. Maricela Galarza scored 9 points. They played with their offense better. We won, 30-12. From that game, two players deserve a recognition as the Players of the Game that went to Jahaidia Brown-Love, Maricela Galarza and Brenda Vargas.

Third game (Girls)
CSD Riverside won, 26-21. Marciella Galazra scored 15 points. The Player of the Game was Brianna Lesti.

Fourth game (Girls)
CSD Riverside emerged victorious 34-27 against Calvary Chapel Murrieta on Wednesday on the strength of Maricela Galarza, who scored eight points. Maricela led the charge for the CSD Riverside’s offense, scoring 8 points, with 4 points during the 3rd period. She also contributed 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Also contributing for the CSD Riverside were Emma Salazar (7 points), Alexandra Monge
(4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), Janae Mixon (2 points) and Artesha Miles (2 points). CSD Riverside finished the game with 23 rebounds (10 offensive/13 defensive) and 9 steals.

Coaches Alvin Chege, Ken Andrews, and Marcus Chmaj are doing so great so far!
