Hello Everyone,

The 33rd Annual WSBC and 20th Annual WSCC tournament at CSDR proved to be a huge success. It was a fun-filled weekend for all as we were able to witness many exciting and thrilling games, especially in the semi-finals and finals. The schools that participated were: OREGON, WASHINGTON, UTAH, FREMONT, MARLTON, PHOENIX, TUCSON AND RIVERSIDE. Our Cheerleaders did it again, by winning the cheerleading competition. This is the second time that CSDR Cheers has won 2 major competitions in the same year (Clerc Classic and WSCC). This was the 6th WSCC Championship in the last 8 years.

Kudos to all the cheerleaders (Pua Lei Ramos, Marilyn Rivas, Ian Vasquez, Duarte, Renee Atkinson, and coaches Stacey Hausman, David Terrell, and Tanya Long.

CSDR Boys finished 2nd place against Fremont in a close game with a score of 48 – 52. Derek Keels and Ryan Baldivez were selected on the 1st team All-Star and Cristian Montes was selected on the 2nd team All-Stars. The Girls basketball team showed good signs of improvement by finishing in 4th place after beating Utah and Oregon. They came in 6th place last year. Shani Ambrester was selected on the 1st team All-Stars and Angela Ferguson was selected on the 2nd team All-Stars.

I want to give a special thanks to the WSBC Committee and the Athletic Department Staff for their outstanding effort to make this tournament a big success. Teamwork was the key to a successful tournament.

In 2010, the WSBC/WSCC tournament will be held in Tucson, Arizona, pending approval from the school administrators.
