I wanted to share this exciting announcement with the Riverside community. Don Cochran, our Varsity Cross Country Head Coach was been selected as Arrowhead League Co-Coach of the Year along with Boys Republic’s Head Coach, Larry Avila.

This is only the second year of existence for Riverside’s Cross Country Team. It is an honor to have him on board with us. He embarked on a season last year with just 4 runners and this year he has expanded the team to 10 runners. The runners propelled Riverside to its successful season by appearing in the CIF-SS Preliminaries State Meet on November 10th at MT. SAC. We are very excited about the talent and depth this team brings to our school. They will build on the accomplishments of 2006 and 2007 and will contribute to our overall goal of establishing a winning tradition for the program.

Cesar Garcia, Riverside senior has been selected Arrowhead League Boys 1st Team. He was selected according to the criteria set by the league.

Luis Estrella, Riverside sophomore on the Varsity Football team has been selected as San Joaquin League 2nd team Offense Linemen. He was nominated after being recognized by opponents in our league due to his blocking and hard-hitting skills.

Ryan Baldiviez, Riverside freshman on the Varsity Football team has been selected as Honorable Mention in the San Joaquin League. The opposing coaches recognized that he made a real difference on the field.

Megan Murphy, Riverside junior has been selected as Arrowhead League Volleyball 2nd team, and to top it off, she was selected the Student-Athlete of the Month in October.

Please join me in congratulating the outstanding people who continue to put Riverside on the map!

GO CUBS!
