“Much Improved Defense!”

CSD-Riverside played against a powerhouse team, Calvary Chapel Murrieta, yesterday. CSDR’s defense was able to shut them down for nearly 3 quarters.

The halftime score was 0-0. Near the end of 3rd quarter, CCM scored and led 6-0.

CSDR offense had been struggling all day long in the game and they could not move the ball much. But CSDR managed to break through their stingy defense and scored. CSDR was still down 14-6.

In the end, CSDR was defeated by CCM, 28-6.

Robert Marquez led the team with 10 tackles. Desi Gonzales, Jr scored a touchdown.

CSDR defense forced them to punt 5 times. We shut another team down for 2 quarters for the first time this year. CSDR offense has been scoring for 20+ consecutive games.

“I am really proud of our boys for their defense playing, in tackling and hitting hard and forcing the other team to punt. Keep up the good work! I can see they will do good in the playoffs! ” stated Coach Andrews.

CSDR will travel for their next game and play vs. Hesperia on Oct 13th.
