CSDR Athletics is proud to announce the student-athletes of the month for September. The winner are Nilson Avalos of Cheer team and Andrew Carrilo of Cross Country team.
Nilson volunteered to be the mascot for us and comes to cheer practice after he finishes his Cross Country practice. He is trying hard to learn the dances and cheers, as well as stunts. He is always courteous and really wants to be part of the team. He has a lot of initiative and wants “Big Red” to be a part of every event. He never complained about being inside the cub, even when the weather was over 90 degrees! He loves keeping the mascot “secret” and never tells anyone that he is inside. He is a great example of Riverside Pride!

Andrew is a very good listener and works without any complaints or excuses. He attends every practice and always gives 100% effort. When instructions for practice are given, he will ask if he can run more or go a longer route. Andrew is also a good communicator, always informing me of his whereabouts. His commitment and dedication to the team are truly appreciated.
