Desean Welch’s 19 points propelled CSDR to a 72-40 victory over Boys Republic on Wednesday.
CSD-Riverside Boys Basketball concluded the first half 48-15 on the heels of a 46-9 run.
Welch led CSD-Riverside Boys Basketball’s offense, going 8-for-13 (62%) from the field while also sinking 60% (3-for-5) of free throws attempted.
Noah Valencia notched three three-pointers and scored 19 points total. Two other players also added ten or more points for CSDR. Christian Jacobs put up 14 points. Also chipping in for CSDR were Nathaniel Humpal (5 points, 3 rebounds), Adonis Tauvalaau (5 points), Ermias Thomas (5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals), Jacob Weiss (3 points, 2 steals) and Mavrick Fisher (2 points, 4 rebounds).
“It was a great victory after three straight losses. Not only that, we SWEPT Boys Republic for first time in my coaching career. I hope we will carry that momentum over to our game against Sherman tomorrow,” stated Hamilton
CSDR will host a game against another league opponent, Sherman, on Wednesday, February 4, at 6:00 p.m.

CSD-Riverside Boys Basketball Pays BACK!
CSDR opened the game with a good start by scoring 13 points and leading at the end of the first quarter 13-8 over Sherman Indian. By halftime, the score was 26-23 with the Cubs remaining in the lead.
Noah Valencia went 5 for 9 from the line (56%), a solid performance for CSDR, helping the team notch a 52-49 victory over the Braves on Wednesday.
Valencia scored 22 points, and Mavrick Fisher hit double digits, scoring 11 points for CSDR (5 for 12). Alan Alcocer put two three-pointers on the board and scored 7 points. Also chipping in for CSDR were Nathaniel Humpal (4 points, 4 rebounds), Christian Jacobs (4 points, 4 rebounds) and Desean Welch (4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals).
“It was a really nice win tonight. We finally won in a close game. In the past we had always won when it was a blow out game or lost when it was a close game, but it did not happen tonight. That shows how improved our team has become,” stated Coach Hamilton.
CSDR will travel to league opponent, La Sierra Academy, on Tuesday, February 10 at 6:00 pm
