CSDR Boys’ Basketball made history last night by beating Baker Valley
in double overtime. We were down for the most of the game until the beginning of the 4th quarter when we finally took the lead. Baker Valley was able to come back to tie the game at the end of regulation. The 1st overtime was neck and neck leading to an overtime again. In the 2nd overtime, Baker Valley took the lead and never looked back. We were down by 3 points with 9 seconds and were able to score quick from the outbound pass with the score 61 – 62. We committed a quick foul to force the opponent to shoot a one and one free throw and they missed.Raymond Nelson grabbed their missed shot and zig zagged all over the court to take a last shot. The ball circled the rim and finally fellin! Raymond Nelson, his first game, led the team with 19 points and Chris Rivera chipped in with 18 points. It was a great win for us knowing that we made history by advancing to the 2nd round. Our next game is tomorrow afternoon against Orangewood Academy at our CSDR gym at 3:45. The game has to be played earlier than 7pm because the opponent is 7th Adventist and their religion forbids them from playing after dark on Friday night. Come and support our CUBS. More information about the game time and admission will be announced shortly. The admission fee will be adminstered by CIF staff.
