Boys Varsity Basketball: Head Coach Jeremias Valencia

Jeremias brings with him a huge suitcase full of basketball experiences, including his own years of playing as a CSDR Cub when he was a student here before. He played college basketball for four years at Gallaudet University, and then participated in deaf club basketball at the local and national levels. He has also played on international deaf and semi-pro basketball teams. He has been coaching youth basketball for more than ten years, and was previously the CSDR Middle School Boys’ Basketball Head Coach and Head Coach for the Boys Varsity team. His message to incoming/promising, future players, all members of the CSD Riverside and Community: “I am looking forward to making my second year as Head Basketball Coach as successful as my first one was, if not more. In order to reach the next level, we need all of the community’s support so I expect to see all of your faces at each game next season!”

Girls Varsity Basketball: Head Coach Steve Biskupiak

Steve’s message to the all members of CSD Riverside, Community and especially incoming/promising players and future players: “Hello! My name is Steve Valencia-Biskupiak. I am humbled and honored for this opportunity to become Head Coach for CSDR’s Girls Varsity Basketball program. Want to share my brief background with you.

As an athlete-

-2015 World Championship Silver Medalist (Taiwan)

-2012 Pan-Am Championship Silver Medalist (Brazil)

-2005 Deaflympics Silver Medalist (Melbourne & Team Handball)

-Two Deaf Prep National Championship (MSSD- 2002-2003)

As a coach:

-Varsity Girls Assistant Coach (CSDR) -Varsity Boys Assistant Coach (CSDR and ASD)

-JV Head Coach (ASD) -Varsity Football Assistant Coach (CSDR)

-Middle School Football Assistant Coach (CSDR) -CSDR youth flag football, basketball, and soccer program

I am beyond excited to return, but as Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach in which I bring my vast knowledge of basketball to teach the skills.”

Wrestling: Head Coach Kevin Croasmun

Kevin was a four year High School wrestler at Ohio School for the Deaf, which he acquired wrestling skills such as stance, motion, level change, etc. He continued to utilize his wrestling skills by participating Gallaudet University Wrestling Team for four years, which he loved so much to promote him to become a coach at CSD Riverside. He coached for four years and then left on paternal leave for a while. He is entering his fifth year as a coach.

 

Cheerleading: Returning Head Coach Stacey Hausman

Stacey Hausman began her coaching at CSD Riverside 20 years ago as a Cheer coach. To this day, she is still (well, always) excited to return and coach her cheer team. Anywhere and even here, you would find that she is a full on cheer coach because she has such a zestful spirit. Give us your zestful spirit, Stacey!
