CSD-Riverside Boys Varsity Basketball defeats Boys Republic once again!

CSDR opened the game with a fiery 7-0 run. Boys Republic decided to come back with their own 7-3 run. After that, Coach Hamilton called a time out and changed the game plan to give the Cubs another 6-0 run in the first quarter. With a 27-18 lead at the half, CSDR pulled ahead in the game. In the 3rd quarter, CSDR continued to stay in the lead while scoring 19 points. (46-27). As a result, CSDR won their second league game, 58-41.

CSDR’s victory came on the strength of Noah Valencia who had triple- double, scoring 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals . Alan Alcocer put up two three-pointers and scored eight points total. Also chipping in were Nathaniel Humpal (7 points, 5 rebounds), Christian Jacobs with 6 rebounds, and Desean Welch with 10 rebounds.

“It was a really great victory tonight, especially at their home, because we won our 2nd game in 10 years on their court. It’s not easy to win at Boys Republic, but it was a great victory. Hope this game will prepare us for the upcoming league games next week,” stated the coaches.

CSDR will play against another league opponent, La Sierra Academy, at CSDR this Monday, January 12, at 6:00 p.m.
