Hello CSD-Riverside Community,

Yesterday during lunchtime, our ASBG Director of Athletics Noah Valencia announced to HS students that Jarita Bustamante and Hiroshi Nakama were selected as Female and Male Student Athletes of the Month for the month of October/November. Here are some comments from their head coaches:

Jarita Bustamante is currently a second year student on Varsity Volleyball team as a Setter. I could not be more pleased with her consistent improvement in her position. I have seen her work hard to earn her position as a setter. She has shown 100 percent effort on court and off court. She is one outstanding student-athlete thru the season. She has struggled with school but she keeps her GPA up by asking aggressively for tutors to help her get thru her education. She has great spirit and pride shown on & off court. This year she have proved that she was able to contribute over 8 assists most of games this season. We are looking forward for her in next few years with her hard work and dedication to this team. We are proud to have her on our Varsity team.

He took responsibility for his team as he is self-disciplined with honor and integrity.
He also is our team captain and is an excellent model role for the players.
He has met our criteria for 4-H “Heart, Honor, Hustle, Hunger”.

In addition to this, Noah informed the students that all Arrowhead League schools (Hamilton, La Sierra Academy, California Lutheran, Upland Christian, Riverside Christian, and Sherman Indian) met to discuss on selections to All-Arrowhead League and he was pleased to announce that they’ve selected Alana Smith to 2nd team All-League team.

Please join me in congratulating these fine individuals and we are very proud that they are our students here at CSD-Riverside.
