Off to a Great “1st” Start

The CSDR Cheer Team participated in Sharp’s Free Day L.A. Cheerleading Competition at La Serna High School in Whittier on Saturday, Oct. 2, and proved, once again, that “Riverside CAN!”. Twelve hearing teams also participated in the event. Each school had the opportunity to compete in different categories, including individual events such as Best Jumps, Tumbling, Spins, Kicks, etc. Judges watched all 13 teams during the day and gave points to teams that showed the best sportsmanship and spirit, as well as points for participating and doing well in competitions.  At the end of the day, trophies were handed out for each category of cheer or dance. But in addition to the categories, trophies were handed out  for the Best Overall teams where all the points were totaled for team and individual achievements.
